SPACE MANBOW STAGE 2: PROVIDENCE BY HACKURL (2005-07-23 22:32:41)

FUNCLE WAVE (2005-07-21 17:35:34)

Nyyrikki has created a little MSX1 game for the 8bit Mini Game Compo colled Funcle Wave. The goal of this patience game is to adjust a funcle wave to make it correspond to an example wave, this by using the UP/DOWN cursor keys. The RIGHT/LEFT cursors allow to lock a part of the funcle wave.

MSXPRÓ UPDATES (2005-07-21 15:35:35)

In the past few days the MSXPró was updated with new software and hardware schematics. The updates include:

  * Updated the Brazilian MSX users and developers country map
  * Added the MegaRAM Disk DDX hardware schematics in PDF format
  * Added the Microsol CDX-2 hardware schematics in PDF format

Next upcoming hardware schematic will be one of the Serial CT-80NET.

MSX CLUB GRONINGEN ANNOUNCE MEETINGS FOR 2006 (2005-07-21 12:20:25)

MSX Club Groningen have announced the dates on which their meetings will be held in the year 2006. On every third Sunday of every odd month, active MSX users can gather in 'Wijkcentrum de Karre', Groningen, The Netherlands. 

Last Sunday the first meeting of MSX Club Groningen was held. With an estimated amount of 30 visitors, the meeting turned out to be a great success, as you can also see for yourself in this photoshoot. Due to this success, MSX Club Groningen have decided entrance will be free for the next meeting, to be held at September 18th, as well.

MSX SOLUTIONS - NEW MAPS (2005-07-21 11:39:55)

Three new maps of MSX games have been added on the MSX Solutions website:

  * Parodius (Tako Saves Earth) (Konami, 1988)
  * Magical Tree (Konami, 1984)
  * Spirits (Topo Soft, 1987)

Apart from these new maps, corrections have been made of the map to Knightmare.

Z80ASM 1.2 (2005-07-20 13:06:57)

Z80ASM is a Z80 assembler written in Ansi C, released under GPL. The project has recently been added to the testing and unstable repositories of Debian Linux. The assembler aims to be portable and complete and assembles all official mnemonics. Apart from that. it also aims to assemble the unofficial mnemonics.

OPENMSX ON SLACKWARE 10 TUTORIAL (2005-07-20 12:52:36)

On Wilson Pilon's website a tutorial on installing and running openMSX on Slackware. The extensive tutorial was written in Portuguese and can be found right here. In many cases, the approach taken also works on Linux distributions other than Slackware. The step by step approach of the tutorial also makes it suitable for people who don't understand Portuguese.

UMAX WEBSITE - LINK ADDED (2005-07-20 00:54:32)

The Dutch MSX group Umax have opened a new website on which information on their classic RPGs Witches revenge, Lost World, the Pumpkin Adventure series and Realms of Adventure can be found. On the website, you can also download Pumpkin Adventure 1 for free and it looks like information on the upcoming Realms of Adventure (part 2) is to be announced in the near future. Umax RPGs are distributed by Sunrise.

POKE -1,170'S AIRWAVES #10 (2005-07-20 00:38:39)

poke -1,170 has just released a new edition of his retro computing music radioshow Airwaves. In this 10th edition, poke takes a look back at the previous shows and, of course, MSX could not be overlooked in this edition. Airwaves #10 contains the song Cuando te Miro by SPL (an entry to the MRC Airwaves Challenge), the soundtrack of Coral 2 and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake's introdemo song, remixed by command.com.
